Snoring is a very common in problem in the United States. Millions of spouses suffer through their partner’s snoring night after night. Luckily there are many stop snoring aids that can be used to ensure that everyone sleeps soundly.

Herbal Supplementation

There are a lot of different herbal supplements available that purportedly solve a person’s snoring problem. At the very least, some of the supplements provide some relief. These generally act by causing the airway to open more at night or by reducing nasal congestion. Visit your health food store to see what they have for stop snoring aids.

Nose Strips and Throat Sprays

Nasal strips are often touted as effective stop snoring aids. These little strips go on the outside of the nose and they work to open the nasal passage more. This creates a larger airway and makes breathing much easier, especially if you have a cold.

Sprays for the nose are also popular stop snoring aids. These sprays help to moisten the nasal cavity. This is supposed to work because the body will not need to produce as much mucous if the nasal cavity is already moist and lubricated. Some people find these stop snoring aids provide temporary relief.

Throat sprays were developed to keep the throat lubricated even if someone is breathing through an open mouth. The idea is that that snoring might be caused by a dry throat. These stop snoring aids help to keep the throat from drying out. Unfortunately, they don’t usually provide snoring relief.

Head bands are used sometimes to end snoring. These head bands wrap around the head and underneath the chin. They function to hold the jaw closed throughout the night.

Changing to a specialty pillow can solve snoring problems too. There are pillows designed to function as stop snoring aids by keeping the head angled in a way that naturally keeps the mouth closed.

Other stop snoring aids come in the form of equipment that attaches to the back. This method makes it uncomfortable for a person to lay on his or her back. This causes them to start sleeping on the side instead of the back. Unfortunately, these stop snoring aids are often uncomfortable to wear.

If you are considering trying one of the many stop snoring aids, you should be sure that you aren’t suffering form sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a very serious condition that commonly occurs with snoring. Your doctor can diagnose it for you and recommend appropriate treatments.
